News POSTED ON: 2010-5-21 All corn planting was done before April 30. Wet and cold weather after that slowed things down. Some corn fields are crusted and need to be watched, breaking the crust might be considered in a few cases. Soys are going into the ground right now, soil conditions are good and beans should be off to a good start. Colored beans will be planted follow shortly after soys. The sprayer is working on weed control in corn fields. Some new seeded alfalfa fields might need some weed control esp. Wild Mustard as well. First alfalfa fields are reaching bud stage and real good crops are starting to lodge. The first alfalfa silage is being harvested today. All in all we are off to an early spring. CFCF NEWS HEADLINES
